Common feature of the above is the production of biogas with a methane content of 40-70%. Except in the case of small landfills, where biogas is flared, in all cases the common objective is to utilize the biogas in a Combined Heat Power-CHP and to produce electricity available to the grid. The goal is to make the investment efficient while protecting the environment from untreated waste and harmful methane emissions into the atmosphere.
