With the DynaDisc disc filter, excellent filtration performance is achieved in water, wastewater and reuse applications. The DynaDisc filter combines innovative engineering with modern technology and provides clear advantages ensuring efficient and reliable filtration over time.
The DynaDisc filter features independent filter discs each consisting of modular demountable cassettes attached to a rotating drum, thus maximizing the filtration surface.
Available in two sizes with 1.9m or 2.4m diameter discs, providing a net filtration surface of up to 197m² with up to 35 discs.
The filter media with pores up to 10micron, is bonded to the single cartridge ensuring optimal tension maximizing its life and minimizing seals. The proven design of the DynaDisc filter guarantees efficient, high-performance filtration with minimal space requirements.
The versatile design of DynaDisc filters is suitable for a range of applications including:
The liquid to be filtered enters the filter from the inlet end of the rotating drum and through suitable openings reaches the filter discs where it is filtered by gravity. Suspended solids are retained by the cloth filter media inside the trays. When the wastewater level inside the drum rises above a predetermined level, drum rotation and backwashing of the filter begins which removes accumulated solids into a fixed discharge channel inside the filter. The wash water is then removed through the discharge pipe to a sump outside the filter. The filter discs are immersed approximately 60% inside the rotating drum and 50% outside.
A submersible pump with sufficient pressure with an external motor is used to backwash the filters. The wash water is passed through a 300 micron selectivity sieve type filter to the head of the wash system and then to the spray nozzles. The head of the washing system moves slowly, causing a corresponding movement in the spray nozzles. In this way, the efficiency of the cleaning system is increased while at the same time the wear of the filter medium is reduced.
