Liquid Ring vacuum pumps in Monoblock Design L-B series

Liquid ring vacuum pumps and compressors (monoblock)

  • Vacuum up to 33 mbar (abs)
  • Capacity up to 950 m3/h

The L-Series liquid ring vacuum pumps and compressors prevail in humid and wet processes, by the use of high quality materials such as stainless steel and ceramics ensure utmost reliability and constant operating characteristics. Our pumps have stainless steel shafts which makes them corrosion resistant. They work safely and reliably even extreme conditions, like those in humid processes. The unique ceramic internal coating of the L-Series pump housings means that the pumps will not calcify due to fluid deposits.

Liquid Ring Packages - Circuit Vacuum Pumps and Compressors

For stable operation, liquid ring pumps must be permanently supplied with operating liquid, which then leaves the unit with the conveyed gas on the discharge side. In order to minimize or even avoid the necessity of providing a continuous supply of fresh liquid, we have developed standardized circuit units. Additional features can include: quiet operation, continuous duty design, discharge separator, seal water cooler, discharge air cooler and suitability for humid environments.

Principle of operation:

The impeller (4) is the only moving part inside the pump. It rotates without contact within the pump casing (2). A rotating liquid ring (1) seals the impellor on the front and seals its blades against one another. Through the inlet slot (6) gas flows into the blade cells. In order to keep the liquid ring stable, liquid is also permanently sucked into the compression chamber and is expelled (3) together with the conveyed gas. The eccentrical arrangement of the impellor within the casing creates variable compression chambers between the blades (5) during rotation, which causes the conveyed gas to be compressed within a full revolution. Since the pumps always create a pressure difference during operation, they can also be used as compressors when pumping gas from the surrounding atmosphere. For stable operation, the pumps must be permanently supplied with liquid, which escapes with the conveyed gas on the discharge side. That is why we have developed standardized circuit units as system solutions, which feed the operating liquid that escaped on the discharge side back into the pump. This allows the pump to be operated with a significantly reduced supply of liquid or even without a permanent liquid supply.

Due to the fact that there is no metal-to-metal contact, there is no wearing of any parts in the pump. Additionally, the simple construction ensures low maintenance cost, little to no ''down'' time for repair, continuous operation capability and thus is proven to be reliable. The unique ceramic internal coating of the L-Series pump casings means that the pumps will not calcify due to fluid deposits and so no limescale will ever appear and affect the pump’s performance.

Liquid ring vacuum pumps and compressors (monoblock)

L-BV3

          -  Vacuum up to 33 mbar (abs)

  -  Capacity up to 11 m3/h

Where extremely small suction capacities are required (sterilizers or for medical / laboratory equipment) the L-BV3 model is ideal. These vacuum pumps are particularly quiet and consume very little water, equipped with integrated cavitation protection thus ensuring the longevity of the pump, and can handle suction side vapors or liquid.

L-BV2 / L-BV7 Multi-purpose liquid ring pumps

                                              -  Vacuum up to 33 mbar (abs)

                                              -  Capacity up to 145 m3/h

L-BV7 and L-BV2 liquid ring pumps are high-powered and multi-talented machines which save space and up to 50% in operating liquids. The machines are available in various combinations of materials such as stainless steel, bronze, ceramic and cast iron with ceramic coating. This enables them to be tailored to the respective operating requirements and thus provides long term resistance to erosion and corrosion. Long lasting due to ceramic coating, pump body also available in full stainless steel, reinforced stainless steel shafts in the pump section, ATEX certified pumps available (L-BV2).

L-BV5

                                                      - Vacuum up to 33 mbar (abs)

                                                      - Capacity up to 580 m3/h

Primarily used for applications with large quantities of liquids. The L-BV5 also simultaneously works as a condenser while suctioning condensable vapor which enables the suction volume to be doubled. Reinforced stainless steel shafts, continuously lubricated bearings and a coated pump housing prevent wear and tear caused by solids that are also sucked in, and guarantee constant performance, even after many years of use. ATEX certified pumps available, IE2 motors on request.

L-BV54 Liquid ring pump with high water carryover

                                                      - Vacuum up to 33 mbar (abs)

                                                      - Capacity up to 340 m3/h

Liquid ring pump with high water carryover. The effort required for pre-separation of liquids is reduced or preseparation can be completely eliminated. The use of an additional water pump is no longer required in most cases. The Elmo Rietschle pumps primarily prove themselves in applications with damp process gases. They are characterized by an extremely high volume flow and achieve intake pressures of 100 mbar (abs). No need for pre-separation, high water carryover of up to 6 m³/h and IE2 motors on request.

L-SV Circuit Pumps

For stable operation, liquid ring pumps must be permanently supplied with operating liquid, which then leaves the unit with the conveyed gas on the discharge side. In order to minimize or even avoid the necessity of providing a continuous supply of fresh liquid, we have developed standardized circuit units. Open circuit and closed circuit (the liquid circuit is cooled by means of a heat exchanger) units available,

Additional features can include: quiet operation, continuous duty design, discharge separator, seal water cooler, discharge air cooler and suitability for humid environments.

L-BL2 frame mounted units

These units combine L-BL2 liquid ring pumps and side channel blowers G-BH1 (or vacuum pumps using another operating principle) mounted on a frame. The blower can operate either at a fixed rotational speed or at variable speed using a frequency converter. This increases the pump‘s performance many times over in the 40 to 150 mbar range. Water loss is minimized due to the collection of condensate from the exhaust; as a result, many applications require little or no additional water after start-up.

L-BL2 split design - S_300 series

                                                      - Vacuum up to 33 mbar (abs)

                                                      - Capacity up to 1,200 m3/h (dry air)

For very high volumes of air, the L-BL2 pumps are first split into individual components. Then tubing, valves and other accessories are added before the different parts are eventually reassambled and mounted on a steel plate. These split design units are suitable for applications involving aggressive suction materials (e.g. food & beverage) and are available in versions made entirely of stainless steel. Versions for integration into a CIP cleaning process on request. Air-to-water heat exchangers or plate heat exchangers are available. An inlet pressure of 10 mbar abs. can be achieved by connecting a gas ejector which can be mounted directly onto the vacuum pump. For the versions with plate-heat exchanger we provide characteristics for dry and wet air operation.

Characteristics:

•The patented vacuum systems S_300 are equipped with an after cooler for discharge air. Therefore in most applications continous operating water supply is not needed, and your operating costs are reduced too.

•The system is also available in stainless steel to be used in food and brewery applications.

•CIP – piping incl. magnetic valves for integration into existing CIP – process available as option for stainless steel version.

•Pre separators are available in standalone and integrated design.
